More Good News!
Yesterday, I posted about a report that put Canada atop of the worlds banking and financial institutions. More good news appears to be on the way. Today The Globe and Mail is reporting that some 107,000 jobs were created in September.
While most of these jobs are part time, it is good news none the less. (Stats Can estimates that 97,000 of these new jobs are part time while 10,000 are full time) What is more surprising however, is that this figure has blown away market forecasts. Most economists were forecasting a modest increase in job creation, approximately 8000 or so.
“This report drums home the point that the Canadian domestic economy carried much firmer momentum heading into the storm than many other nations.”
This latest report is just the newest reason that Canada needs to stay the course. It is no coincidence that Canada entered this “storm” more prepared than many other nations. The Harper government has shown that it not only has the knowledge to deal with such issues but that it is experienced and capable of doing so. I hate to repeat myself, but putting aside the countless other reasons to vote for the conservatives, I think it is incredibly important to have someone with an economics background at the wheel to guide us through the tough waters ahead.
